First Highguard Patch Adds More Graphics Settings and Improves Stability
On release day, the raid shooter Highguard was hit with an avalanche of criticism. Wildlight Entertainment didn't give up and rolled out the first patch, aimed at fixing crashes and adding more settings.
A brief overview of update 1.0.4 content:
- On all platforms, you can now configure crouching to be activated either by a button press or by holding the button. The same applies to aiming down sights, but only on PC.
- On consoles, you can now adjust the field of view (FoV).
- Low settings for shadows and reflections have become even less demanding on device resources. When low shadow quality is selected, volumetric fog is also disabled.
- On PC, a "Draw Distance" option has been added.
- Separate toggles have been added for a number of settings like chromatic aberration.
- You can now select a DLSS preset. More options with descriptions will be added later. Global illumination can be completely disabled.
- On laptops, there should no longer be a hard 60 fps cap, which could occur due to an engine error.
- A set of bugs that caused the game to crash on both PC and consoles has been fixed. According to the team, Highguard now crashes 90% less frequently.
The developers of Highguard also continue to work on optimizing the game. The corresponding update will be released later.
You can play Highguard for free on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. Russian language is not supported. The title's rating on Steam is still very poor — only 38% of over 30,000 reviews are positive.
