Highguard Developers Added "Highly Requested Features" and Reduced Crashes by 90%

The hero shooter Highguard has received an update with "highly requested features" and fixes for various technical issues. The developers managed to reduce the number of game crashes by 90%.

New additions include:

  • Added toggleable settings for Aim Down Sights (ADS) — currently only on PC — and for crouching — on all platforms;
  • Added Field of View (FoV) sliders on consoles — adjustable up to 110 degrees;
  • Optimized low settings for shadow and reflection scaling;
  • Added a "Draw Distance Quality" parameter;
  • Players can now manually enable/disable anisotropy, chromatic aberration, and the Bloom effect;
  • Global illumination can now be completely disabled;
  • Added selectable DLSS presets;
  • Fixed an engine bug that could limit frame rate on laptops to 60 FPS;
  • Resolved a number of bugs related to displaying user online status and matchmaking;
  • The 90% reduction in crashes has led to a significant increase in stability.

Highguard is available for free on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series. Upon release, the shooter received a "mostly negative" rating on Steam, where it also attracted 97,249 concurrent players. However, for Highguard's success, as the developers are confident, a huge audience is not necessary. A dedicated fan base is enough, for whom new content is already being prepared.
