Saber Showcases Techmarine Gameplay in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II will soon receive its twelfth content update, which will introduce the Techmarine class to players. Ahead of the update's release, the developers at Saber Interactive have prepared a brief gameplay demonstration.

The Techmarine is a specialist in controlling enemies and zoning the battlefield. His arsenal allows him to hold back both hordes of enemies and individual dangerous foes, while his allies deal damage freely. In terms of gameplay, the Techmarine is a versatile class with a slight lean towards close-quarters combat. Unlike the Bulwark class, which also keeps enemies at a distance to prevent them from damaging the attacking classes, the Techmarine is more focused on applying pressure to enemies using area-of-effect melee attacks and mid-range firearms.

His special ability, the servo-cannon, unleashes a powerful volley on nearby enemies. Furthermore, the Techmarine can discover and activate stationary "Tarantula" turrets on levels. These will attack enemies until they run out of ammunition or are destroyed. A unique feature of the Techmarine is the integration of the servo-cannon during orbital strikes. This provides greater freedom of movement compared to other classes during these actions: for example, you can perform melee attacks while simultaneously calling in an orbital strike.

The Techmarine's arsenal includes:

  • Primary Weapons:
    • Auto Bolt Rifle;
    • Bolt Rifle;
    • Heavy Bolt Rifle;
    • Occulus Bolt Carbine;
    • Plasma Gun.
  • Secondary Weapons:
    • Bolt Pistol;
    • Heavy Bolt Pistol;
    • Plasma Pistol;
    • Inferno Pistol;
    • Neo-Volkite Pistol.
  • Melee Weapons:
    • Combat Knife;
    • Power Sword;
    • Power Axe;
    • Unique "Omnissian Axe";

The twelfth patch will be released before the end of the first quarter of this year, meaning by April. In addition to the Techmarine, the developers are offering:

  • Free Content:
    • A new PvE operation.
    • An expansion to the battle barge.
    • New combat conditions for the PvE "Stratagems" mode.
  • Second Season Pass:
    • A Raven Guard Chapter Champion.
    • A Carcharodons Chapter cosmetic set.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II is available on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series with full Russian localization. Meanwhile, it's worth remembering that the studio has already given the green light for the development of a full-fledged sequel.
