Absurd trailer for Mewgenics roguelike by The Binding of Isaac creator promises 250 hours of gameplay
The Binding of Isaac creator Edmund McMillen has shown a fresh trailer for Mewgenics — a roguelike that will be released on February 10 only on PC.
The video lasts over two minutes and reveals the key features of the upcoming release. Moreover, it does so with inserts featuring real actors and in McMillen's typical absurd manner.
A person of marginal appearance and wearing a cat mask opens a box, in which bugs lay out the phrase "900 items." This is the vast variety that should please Mewgenics players — part of the unusual equipment is shown in gameplay footage.
A toilet with an unclear brown slurry promises viewers 15 chapters, and in some footage, over 12 playable classes are mentioned. Meanwhile, a mouse, using cheese scraps, talks about the presence of over 50 bosses, and an alluring "black kitty" in a latex costume tempts viewers with a whopping 1200 abilities. Finally, graffiti states more than 250 hours of gameplay. Do we believe what's written on the fence?
To remind, in Mewgenics, players will have to assemble a cat army and send fighters into turn-based battles. Edmund McMillen promises that each run in the cartoonish roguelike will be a "puzzle" — to be solved using unique abilities, hundreds of items, and other tricks.
