Life is Strange: Reunion has received a somber trailer that recalls the tragedy of the original Life is Strange. It aims to refresh the memories of long-time fans and tell newcomers the backstory of the upcoming release.
Several years before the current events, Max returned to her hometown to study photography at Blackwell Academy. There, she began to be tormented by nightmares in which a tornado destroys the town. As if that weren't enough, she witnesses the murder of her childhood friend. At that moment, the protagonist's mystical abilities manifest—she can rewind time. After reuniting with Chloe after a long separation, the protagonist decides to help her search for her friend and everyone's favorite, Rachel.

The further the girls progress in their investigation, the stranger the world around them behaves. Moreover, Chloe finds herself on the brink of death several times. Alas, all this leads to tragic consequences. When a hurricane truly hits the town, Chloe realizes that the anomalies are caused by her repeated "resurrections." She suggests her friend return to the day of the murder and let death take its course. Thus, Max faces a horrifying choice: save the town or save Chloe.
From the announcement of the new game, we know that the protagonist's friend is alive. However, she suffers from incredible and terrifying visions. Plus, the previous trailer contained lines about this being the girls' last chance. One can assume that this time, the player will once again be offered to decide Chloe's fate, this time for good. However, whether the plot will repeat the first game so strongly or the authors have come up with something completely new, we will only find out after the release.
