Deep Rock Galactic Receives Major Update and Launches Sixth Season Relics of Hoxxes
Ghost Ship Games has released a major update for the cooperative shooter Deep Rock Galactic. It is already available on PC and will arrive on consoles within the next two weeks.
Alongside the update, the game has launched its sixth season, Relics of Hoxxes, which grants players access to a new region — the Ossuary Depths. This gloomy biome is full of ancient remains and harbors many dangers. Here, dwarves will encounter previously unknown fauna and can extract a valuable resource — Resinite. Venturing into the unexplored depths of the planet promises intense adventures and new challenges.
One of the main additions is the "Heavy Extraction" mission mode. Due to tectonic shifts on the planet's surface, massive deposits of amber minerals have been exposed. The players' task is to manually extract these riches and send them into orbit using special rocket elevators. The difficulty lies in the absence of precise scanners: navigating the cave labyrinths must be done visually, searching for characteristic inclusions in the rock. Furthermore, extracting amber minerals can become an additional objective in missions — regardless of the biome type.
The Hoxxes ecosystem has been enriched with three new enemies from the Ossiran family:
- Winged Scrabs attack in swarms from the air. Their sturdy shell provides reliable protection on the ground, making them most vulnerable while flying.
- Fangbiters prefer to hide beneath the surface, setting ambushes. They can immobilize squad members, lying in wait like living mines.
- The Bone Collector does not show direct aggression and tries to hide when encountering dwarves. However, pursuing this creature can lead to secret dens where valuable gemstones are stored.
In addition to new content, a seasonal battle pass with free rewards has been introduced to the game. Players can obtain resource packs and a series of industrial-style weapon frameworks. The list of activities has also expanded: a seasonal event for raiding Ossiran trophy caches is now available, and new dance animations have been added aboard the space station.
