Crimson Desert Will Not Have Microtransactions — Developers Confirm

Just one month remains until the release of Crimson Desert, and the developers at Pearl Abyss continue to fuel public interest. This time, they were quick to reassure gamers and confirmed that their new game is a strictly single-player title without any microtransactions.

The concerns stemmed from the fact that Crimson Desert was initially planned as a multiplayer spin-off of the MMO Black Desert Online. However, during development, the studio decided to abandon this idea and create a AAA-level single-player fantasy action game.

This is a premium game, created not to push microtransactions, but so that players can enjoy the world after a single purchase. That is the monetization model. If the game were free, then we would obviously have to find some other way to make a profit. But here we have a premium experience where the purchase itself is the primary transaction.

Crimson Desert releases on March 19th (March 20th Moscow Time) for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series with Russian text localization.
