Borderlands 4 Receives Photo Mode Update and Support Plan Through 2026
Gearbox has updated the roadmap for Borderlands 4, revealing its plans through the third quarter of 2026. Additionally, a major patch has already been released, adding a photo mode to the game, a fresh set of weekly challenges, and more.
The photo mode can be activated at any point during gameplay via the pause menu. If you pull out the virtual camera in single-player mode, all movement around you will stop. However, you shouldn't count on this in multiplayer. The photo mode menu contains numerous tabs with settings to help you frame the perfect shot.
The update also touched on progression and rewards, changed one of Harlow's skills, and made adjustments to boss battles, loot, weapons, and other aspects of the project.
As for the Borderlands 4 support plan, it looks like this:
- First quarter of the year: major updates, the paid "Rewards Pack 2" in February, and the story DLC Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned in March. The expansion will add a new region, story missions, and a new playable character — the robot C4SH.
- Second quarter: a raid boss, major updates, endgame content, and the paid "Rewards Pack 3".
- Third quarter: major updates, paid "Rewards Packs", and story DLC.
Furthermore, Gearbox has promised to improve the game's performance and stability, fix bugs, and monitor balance. In the future, Borderlands 4 will receive cross-save support, the maximum character level will be increased, and so on.
Borderlands 4 is available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series, and will also be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 in the future. The in-game text has been translated into Russian.
