A Whisper of Fall: Jinyiwei Announced: A Wuxia Action Game with Stunning Visuals
Chinese studio Chengdu Cangmo Information Technology has announced the action-RPG A Whisper of Fall: Jinyiwei with its first gameplay trailer. The game, being developed with support from the PlayStation China Hero Project initiative, is slated for release on PlayStation 5 and PC storefronts (Steam, Epic Games Store). Exact release dates have not been announced.
Immersion in the Twilight of the Ming Empire
The project invites players to the final days of the Ming dynasty — a time when the state is cracking under the weight of internal intrigues and feuds between secret clans. The player will take on the role of a simple transporter, unwillingly drawn into a dangerous game. To survive, the protagonist infiltrates the ranks of the powerful imperial guard, the Jinyiwei, becoming a double agent in the service of the black market.
Detective Wuxia with Elements of Freedom
The key mechanic of the project is deduction, allowing players to analyze the course of events and influence the outcome of investigations. The gameplay is built on a combination of classic wuxia-style combat, stealthy rooftop traversal, and solving multi-layered detective puzzles.
The plot revolves around uncovering a large-scale conspiracy threatening the empire. By carrying out missions for the guard and secret patrons, the player determines the hero's fate: will their path lead to the role of a noble protector, a calculating careerist, or a completely unexpected ending.
