Film Adaptation of Split Fiction Starring Sydney Sweeney Reaches Important Production Milestone
Split Fiction is among the numerous video game adaptations being developed by Amazon. According to Hazelight Studios head Josef Fares, the project starring Sydney Sweeney and directed by Jon M. Chu has reached a significant milestone in the production process.
In a recent interview, Fares confirmed he has reviewed the first final version of the script. He also mentioned having met with Sydney Sweeney, though he is not yet ready to draw far-reaching conclusions.
"I received the first version of the script today," Fares told Moviezone. "But, you know, there's so much talk in Hollywood... I usually say: 'I'll believe it when I see it.'"
Regarding Sweeney, the director only added: "We had a meeting, and she seemed very calm."
Work on the Split Fiction film was first announced in April 2025. However, it wasn't until June 2025 that Amazon MGM secured the rights to produce the film. Now the project has a script.
Although many stages remain before the film's release, any news is better than complete silence—unlike the situation with the adaptation of It Takes Two, announced back in 2022, about which there has been no news since.
