Helldivers 2 Receives Major Update with Weapon Changes and New Warbond
The developers of Helldivers 2 have released the Siege Breakers Warbond and implemented numerous changes.
The creators have increased all melee weapon damage and reduced armor's ability to deflect it. Now all bayonet weapons have become more dangerous. Pistols and assault rifles have also been adjusted to make them more suitable for close and medium-range combat.
The balance between damage and durability for some enemies has been changed so they can more effectively counter heavy vehicles. The adjustments affected many foes, but the developers assure this won't impact their effectiveness against regular soldiers.
A crash detection feature has been added to the PC version of the game. If the game freezes for more than 20 seconds, this new function terminates the game instead of leaving it in a frozen state. In the process, a file called a "memory dump" is created, containing important debugging information. This will help programmers respond to crashes.
Significant attention was paid to fixing various bugs. This includes:
- Fixed sounds that were not working correctly;
- Removed a number of visual bugs;
- Made the overheating display for thermal weapons correct;
- Fixed a save error between operations in the story campaign;
- Improved enemy aiming.
Work was also done on optimization. Improved the performance of building materials in colonies and cities, fixed crashes when launching the game, and adjusted fog settings.
Earlier, analysts reported that Helldivers 2 has sold 20 million copies. Last month, according to expert estimates, 3.6 million people played Helldivers 2 on Steam, PS5, and Xbox.
