Ubisoft to lay off nearly 2,500 more employees

According to insider Tom Henderson, a new restructuring at Ubisoft could lead to the layoff of over two thousand employees. This is the third phase of cost optimization until 2028, aimed at saving 200 million euros.

The previous phase already resulted in a workforce reduction of 3,632 people and the closure of several studios over three years. If the new wave is comparable, it could affect around 2,400 more people, with the first decisions expected as early as February 12, 2026.

Henderson notes that the company is using indirect methods for the cuts, such as introducing mandatory five-day in-office presence, which encourages voluntary departures.

According to the journalist, Ubisoft's problem lies in systemic management errors. Constant restructurings and a lack of accountability at the top create a toxic environment. Without changes in leadership, new layoffs will not stabilize the situation but will only accelerate the departure of experienced specialists.
