AION 2 Update Celebrates 100 Days Since Release: PvP and PvE Split, New Content, and Festive Events
During the live stream on February 22nd, the developers of AION 2 revealed extensive plans for game changes.
Key innovations include a complete technical split of character stats for PvP and PvE, allowing for fine-tuning class balance for each mode. The system is already undergoing internal testing.
To address the issue of faction imbalance, the Chaos Abyss mechanic will be introduced in March, creating matches without regard to Elyos or Asmodian affiliation, based solely on player count.
The functionality of Spatial Rifts will also be changed: they will now open randomly on random servers, encouraging unpredictable clashes.
The developers have softened penalties for losing Abyss Points in PvP and improved Abyss equipment for PvE.
A new challenging Challenge stage will appear — "Sunken Temple of Life" with an entry requirement of 3500 equipment points.
The system for obtaining the Scales arcana will transition to fragments, and to help newcomers, a battle pass purchasable with in-game currency will be introduced.
Other changes include:
- Auto-completion tickets for Kinah
- Double reward cubes for subscribers in the Sanctuary
- Resource conversion to stabilize the economy
- Compensation for past expenditures
- New customization options and fixes for evasion skills while flying
To celebrate 100 days since launch, an event is starting with coupon codes WELCOMEBACK and AION2DAYS100, gifts, and a 50% discount on equipment dyeing.
The developers also announced a new PC interface, a damage meter, and a nerf to the boss Kaisinel.
