How did Yves Guillemot, whose company has managed to release many high-quality hits in the Assassin's Creed, Far Cry series and beyond, come to such a life? According to the union, the head of Ubisoft "mistreats" his employees. Until the situation changes, the union organizations do not want to see the manager within the walls of Ubisoft Paris.
Frankly, developers have plenty of reasons to be angry. Recently, Ubisoft managed to close a couple of studios, including one that organized a union. The French company also canceled a bunch of games, and may later lay off over two thousand people in addition to the previous layoffs.
A union representative speaking on behalf of Ubisoft Paris employees did not mince words. In his opinion, Yves Guillemot should be removed from leadership — otherwise, he will "screw up" (a censored version of the word chosen by the developer) the company.
Yves Guillemot himself previously commented on all the changes during Ubisoft's restructuring. According to him, the difficult decisions regarding layoffs and game cancellations are necessary for long-term financial growth.
