The first images of Sophie Turner as Lara Croft for the Prime Video series have been released. The actress is presented in the classic outfit of the heroine from the original games.
The role of Lara Croft, previously played by Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander, went to Sophie Turner, known for "Game of Thrones." The series will also star Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, and Celia Imrie. The script is written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
The series is based on the iconic game series, first released in 1996. Lara Croft became an icon of the gaming industry, and in 2013, the franchise was rebooted with updated graphics and storyline.
Tomb Raider is one of many adaptations of popular games. The same service has already released the successful series "Fallout," and an adaptation of the game "God of War" is also in preparation. Following the series announcement, developer Crystal Dynamics presented two new Lara Croft games.
