Theres still a chance the creator of rust has offered to buy mmorpg new world aeternum for 25 million

Facepunch Studios COO Alistair McFarlane has publicly offered Amazon Games $25 million to buy the MMORPG New World: Aeternum. In his statement, he noted that "games should not die" and outlined his vision for saving the project.

According to McFarlane, the key to the longevity of an online game is to transfer control to the community. He believes that this requires the ability to host servers independently, an open infrastructure, and minimal restrictions from the publisher. Such an approach, he says, will allow the project to "live forever in the hands of a dedicated community."

Amazon Games has not yet commented on this proposal. It remains unknown whether it was considered seriously or was merely demonstrative in nature. The statement attracted attention against the backdrop of the upcoming closure of New World: Aeternum, which has already been removed from sale.
