It has been revealed that three studios, which in recent years have been developing games for virtual reality, have been shut down. These are:
- Armature Studio — creators of Resident Evil 4 VR, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, Where the Heart Leads, ReCore.
- Twisted Pixel — creators of Marvelʼs Deadpool VR, 'Splosion Man, Ms. Splosion Man, Wilsonʼs Heart.
- Sanzaru Games — creators of Asgard’s Wrath, Asgardʼs Wrath 2, Spyro Reignited Trilogy (Year of the Dragon), The Sly Collection, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time.
The closure of the studios is taking place against the backdrop of layoffs of more than 1,000 jobs at Reality Labs — this is the Meta* division responsible for VR development.
