The Ninja Path in Provence: The First Naruto Universe Park Opens in Europe
In Provence (France), Spirou Park has rolled out Konoha Land — Europe's first theme park devoted entirely to the Naruto universe. The announcement came only five months ago; now the Hidden Leaf Village exists in near–real scale, with life-size figures and familiar street scenes that hit the eye hard (esp. if you grew up on the manga).
Masashi Kishimoto contributed exclusive artwork for the opening: Naruto and Kurama pieces sit on-site, part promo, part homage. They’re visible around the grounds and, honestly, seeing those original sketches in a park setting feels a little surreal.
Thrill-seekers get the loudest offerings. The centerpiece coaster, Kyubi Unchained, drops about 30 m and tops out near 75 km/h — think free fall + sustained speed, not just a gentle loop. Another ride, the rotating platform Rasengan Chakra Rotation, spins visitors in a way that makes the name fit, if you catch my drift. Short, punchy rides; longer queuing; some devices that will leave you breathless, etc.
If you want to slow the pace, there are food stops meant to replicate in-universe favorites. The snack bar Ichiraku Ramen serves themed bowls (authenticity varies), and a sweets kiosk sells dango and other treats. Food here functions as set dressing as much as it does sustenance — a tasty detour between attractions.
Konoha Land stands out because large-scale anime projects like this usually stay in Japan; seeing one planted in Europe is odd, welcome, and a little chaotic. For quick info: opening was fast (5 months), main coaster = 30 m / 75 km/h, and artworks by Kishimoto are on display. Whether you come for nostalgia or for the rides, expect an experience that mixes spectacle with fan service — and a handful of small surprises.
