Just one day remains before the sandbox game Hytale finally sees the light of day — it launches on January 13th, and the developers expect an influx of a whole million adventurers at the start.
Now, Simon Collins-Laflamme, one of the founders of Hypixel Studios and the savior of Hytale from oblivion, has boasted about the successful pre-order sales of the sandbox. The developer did not reveal the exact number of pre-orders, but Simon admitted that the recent months following the buyout of the rights to the canceled Hytale from Riot Games have been filled with relentless work, which has left him with almost no time to see his family.
However, Simon hopes that one day his sons will find a passion in life similar to what he feels for releasing the sandbox. And, of course, the family man plans to spend more time with his loved ones after the Hytale situation stabilizes.
On January 13th, Hytale will only launch in early access and exclusively on the developers' own launcher — they fear negative reviews on Steam.
And in recent weeks, the sandbox's creators have shared a wealth of materials: from music to a demonstration of the ability to create a side-scrolling platformer game using Hytale's internal tools.
Another recent video is dedicated to placing decorations. The video shows that in creative mode, players will be able to place a multitude of various objects. And placing items won't be limited to preset positions — they can be rotated in different directions and even placed inside other items and blocks. For example, a knife can be "stuck" into a map on a wooden table.
