Resident Evil Requiem Graphics Compared to Remakes of Second and Fourth Installments

Two videos dedicated to Resident Evil Requiem have been released on the ElAnalistaDeBits YouTube channel. The first one compares the graphics and animations with Resident Evil 2 (2019) and Resident Evil 4 (2023), which also run on the RE Engine.

It cannot be definitively said that the ninth installment has significantly surpassed its predecessors, but some elements look more impressive. For example, the hair on Leon's head and certain animations. Plus, as we have already seen in previous gameplay videos, Requiem turned out to be very gory. Almost every encounter with zombies results in bloody fountains drenching everything around.

Unfortunately, we haven't been treated to a graphics and performance comparison across different platforms yet, but such a video is unlikely to be long in coming. However, we can already see how the look of Requiem on PC changes depending on the activation of certain settings. For example, ray tracing and path tracing. Additionally, the video demonstrates performance on four graphics cards: RTX 5060 Ti, 5070, 5080, and 5090.

If you activate DLSS 4 and forgo ray tracing, you can squeeze out 100+ fps even from the most budget model. And that's on maximum settings. Although, at 1080p resolution.

To recap, Resident Evil Requiem will be released on February 27th for PC, PS5, Xbox Series, and Switch 2. You can check the exact release time here. And for excerpts from the press's rave reviews — here.
