Thanks to the Deal with Sony, Streaming Rights for the Zelda Movie Now Belong to Netflix
The rights to the exclusive streaming of the upcoming game adaptation film "The Legend of Zelda" have been acquired by the Netflix platform. The film, scheduled for release on May 27, 2027, will first be released in theaters and then become available on the streaming service.
Netflix bought the rights to exclusive screenings of Sony films — the price was 7 billion dollars
This decision is part of a large-scale deal between Netflix and Sony Pictures, which grants the streamer the rights to the first window for the studio's films after their theatrical release.
Despite the move to Netflix, the film is also scheduled for a physical release on Blu-ray and DVD, as well as being available for digital purchase.
