"True Detective" Star Praises Zack Cregger's Resident Evil
Kali Reis ("True Detective"), who stars in the upcoming Resident Evil film adaptation, has praised director Zack Cregger.
"As a fan of the series since the very first game, I really appreciate his attempt to tell a completely new story. The film's script is simply amazing. Fans will be pleased," Reis concluded.
Recall that the actress plays a soldier, a role that was originally written for a man. The lead role, as a reminder, was given to Austin Abrams, who previously worked with the director of the new "Resident Evil" on the horror film "The Tool."
Zack Cregger's film will have an "original, yet canon-compliant plot." In which there will be no place for the games' key characters.
The premiere is scheduled for September 18, 2026.
