According to insiders, Sony and Marvel have revised their agreement on the rights to characters from the Spider-Man universe. Under the new agreement, any Spider-Man and related characters can now appear in any Marvel project without the previous restrictions, paving the way for large-scale crossovers in the MCU.

However, Marvel reportedly has no plans for solo films for these characters, except for the already launched Venom franchise. Their main appearances will most likely be limited to episodic roles in team projects or cameos. Details of the deal, in particular what Sony received in return, have not yet been disclosed.
