This year marks the 35th anniversary of the cult series Sonic the Hedgehog about a blue hedgehog named Sonic and his friends. The very first game was released on June 23, 1991. And Sega is already preparing to celebrate the anniversary. The company has launched an exciting program of events and activities planned for this year: presentations, exhibitions, meetings with fans, the launch of exclusive merchandise, and much more.
But Sonic fans are hoping for the announcement of a new game, preferably a full-fledged 3D platformer. The latest release in this category is the adventure action game Sonic Frontiers, which came out in 2022.
And last year, Sega registered a new trademark, Shadow the Hedgehog, giving hope for a potential return of the game about Shadow with a firearm.
