Phasmophobia Developers Unveil Plans for 2026
The creators of the horror game Phasmophobia have published a roadmap for the upcoming year 2026. Unfortunately, without specific dates, but the main event will undoubtedly be the long-awaited release of version 1.0.
It is also known that a major update dedicated to reworking the characters will be released in the first quarter. Specifically, the heroes will receive new looks and animations. The update will also add a third-level medicine and various "cosmetics."
Along with the release of version 1.0, a major Horror 2.0 update will be released, including new ghosts and additional gameplay mechanics. The latter, according to the creators, are designed to make the gameplay more intense.
Also in 2026, Phasmophobia will receive an updated engine and a refined network mode, which will become smoother. In addition, there will be reworked versions of Tanglewood and 13 Willow Street, as well as the returning seasonal activities Cursed Hollow, Crimson Eye, and Winterʼs Jest.
And finally, by the end of the year, the horror game will be ported to the Switch 2.
Currently, the game is available to owners of PC, PS5, and Xbox Series. It has been in early access since 2020, and its sales as of July 2025 have exceeded 25 million copies.
Phasmophobia will never become a live-service game and may get a sequel in the future. Also, a screen adaptation of the horror is in the works.
