Netflix Releases Trailer for Feature-Length 'Peaky Blinders' Sequel
Netflix has unveiled the trailer for a feature-length film – a continuation of the cult series "Peaky Blinders." Cillian Murphy once again brings the character of Tommy Shelby to life on screen.
According to Murphy himself, at the beginning of the film, his character is in an extremely difficult state. The actor describes Tommy Shelby as follows:
When we meet him, he is as broken as he's ever been. He's just numbing the pain and living in a purgatory he's created for himself in this big old house. He's in a kind of limbo – not really living, but not dead either. He's shut himself off from the world, from his family.
The cast also features new faces. Rebecca Ferguson plays the role of a mysterious character, details about whom are still being kept secret. Barry Keoghan plays the son of Duke Shelby – Tommy's illegitimate heir, who was first introduced in the sixth season of the series.
The main antagonist of the film will be Beckett – a British supporter of fascist ideas portrayed by Tim Roth. The actor shared his thoughts on his character:
"Fascism comes in many guises, as we know. He's very reasonable. That's what I thought made him a more frightening figure when his true face is revealed."
The screenplay is handled by the creator of the original series, Steven Knight, and the director's chair is occupied by Tom Harper.
The feature film titled "Peaky Blinders: The King's Ransom" will be released in select cinemas on March 6, and two weeks later, on March 20, it will become available on the Netflix platform.
Fans can expect a return to the dark atmosphere of the "Peaky Blinders" universe, where personal dramas intertwine with large-scale historical upheavals.
