Nioh 3 Surpasses 1 Million Copies Sold in Two Weeks, Sets Series Record

Publisher Koei Tecmo has officially confirmed that Nioh 3, released on February 6, 2026, has had the best launch in the franchise's history. In just 14 days, global sales have exceeded 1 million copies, allowing the entire series to surpass the milestone of 10 million copies sold.

Unlike the second installment, which was a PlayStation exclusive at launch, Nioh 3 was released simultaneously on PS5 and PC. It is evident that this strategy enabled the game to set a record that would have been impossible on PlayStation 5 alone.

Nearly half of all sales (approximately 48.7%) came from the Chinese market. The success of projects like Black Myth: Wukong clearly paved the way for Asian action RPGs, and Nioh 3 capitalized on this.

Alinea Analytics also reports that 70% of the player base on PlayStation 5 had previously played the second installment, while over 80% of PC players have Elden Ring in their library.
