Modder doubles Monster Hunter Wilds performance

Modder doubles monster hunter wilds performance 2

Modder doubles Monster Hunter Wilds performance Capcom's long-awaited release of Monster Hunter Wilds has faced serious criticism from players due to optimization issues, but the modding community has already found a way to significantly improve the situation.

The main performance issue with Monster Hunter Wilds on PC is related to the enormous load on the CPU, especially in settlements and locations with a large number of NPCs. The Wilds CPU Performance Fix mod optimizes how the game processes character animations and crowd behavior logic at a distance.

According to Reddit user de_Tylmarande, the game constantly checks whether the player has all the DLC installed. This procedure is essentially the main cause of CPU/RAM issues. By simply bypassing this check, de_Tylmarande was able to nearly double the performance of Monster Hunter Wilds.

To back up his claims, the modder shared a video. As we can see, without the mod, the game runs at a minimum of 24 FPS and an average of 30 FPS. By simply bypassing the DLC checks, performance increases dramatically. With the mod, de_Tylmarande achieved a minimum frame rate of 43 FPS and an average of 49 FPS. As we can see, he almost doubled the game's performance. More precisely, the modder managed to improve the minimum frame rate by 79% and the average frame rate by 63%.

Unfortunately, de_Tylmarande has not yet shared his mod with the public. However, he has informed Capcom of his findings. If Capcom does not implement this fix in the two upcoming PC updates, the modder plans to release his mod for everyone to use.
