Kratos May Return to Greece in the New God of War Game
Journalist Tom Henderson claims that Santa Monica Studio is working on a new God of War game, and its setting may return to Ancient Greece, not Egypt as previously speculated. This return to Greek roots is linked to Kratos's evolution: after the events of Ragnarok, he has become the God of Hope, and the contrast with his past could form the basis of the plot. Henderson also mentioned that Kratos might receive a new weapon — a scythe.
The release of the new installment is not expected before the next generation of PlayStation. However, the series' creative lead, Cory Barlog, is working on a secret AAA project that could be announced as early as 2024.
