It looks like Ubisoft is preparing a re-release of The Division — a poster for the project was spotted at an event in Japan

At a Ubisoft event in Japan, a poster for The Division: Definitive Edition was spotted — it seems the company is preparing an updated edition of the original game. Photos of the poster appeared on social media: they were published by several users who attended the event.

The poster was allegedly shown at FPS Day — an esports event dedicated to Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege and Tom Clancy’s The Division 2. The event also includes a panel celebrating the tenth anniversary of The Division series, which makes the appearance of the Definitive Edition especially symbolic.

The original Tom Clancy’s The Division was released in 2016. The game was set in New York after a devastating viral epidemic. In the story, the disease, nicknamed "Green Poison," spread through cash. Players completed missions, upgraded their gear, and ventured into the Dark Zone — the most dangerous area where the best loot could be found, but it could only be retrieved upon successful evacuation by helicopter.

Ubisoft has not officially announced the Definitive Edition yet, but the leak looks very plausible. Recall that Tom Clancy’s The Division 3 was announced back in 2023, but the game has not been shown to the public since then. Executive producer Julian Gerighty recently stated that the third installment should have an impact comparable to the release of the first Division. According to him, development is in full swing, and the project is internally referred to as a "monster" at Massive Entertainment.

If the rumors about the Definitive Edition are confirmed, Ubisoft could use the re-release as a way to remind gamers of the series' roots before the full release of The Division trilogy.

The original The Division is currently available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Connect), Xbox, and PlayStation with full Russian localization.
