John Van Caneghem, the "Father" of the Might and Magic Series, Joins Work on HoMM: Olden Era
The Unfrozen studio is going all out to please Heroes of Might and Magic fans. How about this move — Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era is being developed with the founder of New World Computing and the creator of the Might and Magic series, John Van Caneghem (Jon Van Caneghem), serving as a creative consultant!
Van Caneghem is returning to work on "Heroes" for the first time since the release of Heroes of Might and Magic IV. His experience and knowledge of the early parts of the series will help Unfrozen with game design, world-building, and other aspects of Olden Era, according to a message from the studio.
The developer admitted he is very happy that the world he created many years ago continues to live on in the memory of so many players. Therefore, he is "happy to contribute to it once again."
Olden Era is a project into which the Unfrozen team has poured their hearts and all their professionalism. It is a great honor for me to share my experience with them! Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era will begin its journey in Early Access on Steam sometime in 2026. The in-game text will be translated into Russian. The strategy's demo is still available.
