Valve Adjusts Internal Ruble Exchange Rate on Steam
On February 18, 2026, Valve updated the internal conversion rate for the Russian ruble to the US dollar in the Steam digital store. The new rate is 76 rubles per 1 US dollar — previously, the rate was 81 rubles per dollar. The change took effect overnight on February 18 and was automatically reflected in the prices of digital goods for which a fixed regional price is not set.
The rate adjustment primarily affected in-game items and services in CS2. For example, a case key dropped in price from 204 rubles to 191 rubles. The "Arsenal" pass can now be purchased for 1,225 rubles instead of the previous 1,300 rubles. A discounted Major capsule became available for 20 rubles. Additionally, the price of Prime status decreased: it was previously 1,220 rubles and is now 1,145 rubles.
The previous change to the internal exchange rate occurred in May 2025. At that time, the rate was lowered from 96 to 81 rubles per dollar, leading to a noticeable reduction in the cost of items and services without regional pricing.
