Frostpunk 2 Developers Fix Issues Introduced with Fractured Utopias Release
Studio 11 bit studios has released a patch for the strategy game Frostpunk 2 that addresses a number of issues that appeared after the release of the Fractured Utopias expansion. The developers focused on stabilizing key game systems and improving the overall comfort of the gameplay.
One of the most significant improvements was the rework of the disease spread mechanics in the city. Previously, a plague epidemic developed too rapidly, often leading to inevitable defeat. In the updated version, the process of studying and treating the epidemic has become more balanced: players have gained more opportunities to combat the threat, allowing for the development of long-term survival strategies and more efficient resource management during a crisis.
Substantial changes also affected production chains—the developers eliminated glitches that hindered the stable operation of the city's infrastructure. As a result, the game's economy has become more predictable and logical, while retaining its inherent complexity and strategic depth.
A significant portion of the updates affected the user interface. The developers fixed incorrect camera positioning, optimized the display of city districts, removed duplicate tooltips, and resolved navigation issues. These changes have made interacting with the game more intuitive and convenient, allowing players to navigate the complex city management systems more quickly.
Furthermore, the team optimized textures and eliminated a number of minor bugs, which positively impacted the overall stability of the game on all platforms—be it PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series.
The Fractured Utopias expansion, which is already available on the mentioned platforms, significantly expands the strategic possibilities of Frostpunk 2. It introduces eight unique utopias—one for each faction—and also offers over 100 story events and two premium stories. New gameplay mechanics enrich the experience, allowing for a fresh perspective on managing society in the harsh conditions of a post-apocalyptic world.
