EA has registered the trademark FC The Grounds — possibly for an open-world mode
There is no official information on social media at the moment, but major foreign media outlets reported back in November. According to rumors, players will be able to explore various locations inspired by countries traditionally considered footballing nations. The developers will include various interactive elements, mini-games, and much more inside.
It was noted that details about the open world were discussed at a presentation where EA FC 27 — the next installment in the football simulation series — was frequently mentioned. However, it must be reiterated that no one has officially spoken about this yet.
Recall that the current EA FC 26 was released on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and both generations of Switch in September 2025. The game received mixed reviews from players, but that hasn't stopped it from consistently topping the sales charts in various regions.
