Fans of "Wednesday" Will Have to Wait 3 Seasons

The streaming service Netflix has officially announced that the third season of the popular series "Wednesday" will only appear on the platform in 2027. The company applies a differentiated approach to content release: less large-scale projects are released annually, while for major franchises, which include "Wednesday," a longer preparation period is provided.

One of the most anticipated innovations will be the appearance of actress Eva Green in the series. She will play Aunt Ophelia—the sister of Morticia Addams. Viewers only briefly saw Morticia from behind in the final frames of the second season, but in the third season, the family ties of the characters will be explored more deeply.

Ophelia's storyline promises to be rich. Like her niece Wednesday, she possesses psychic abilities. However, the heroine's fate turned out dramatically: by the will of her mother (shared with Morticia), Ophelia was placed in a psychiatric hospital. She managed to escape, and this story will become one of the central intrigues of the upcoming season.

While fans of "Wednesday" await the continuation, Netflix is preparing a number of other notable projects for release in 2026. Viewers can look forward to the final seasons of the series "Outer Banks" and "The Witcher," new episodes of "Bridgerton" and "Ginny & Georgia," as well as a live-action adaptation of "One Piece."
