Fans Worry That Begraved Will Slow Down Valheim's Development

The developers of Valheim continue to work on the main game, bringing it closer to the long-awaited 1.0 release. However, it was recently revealed that several studio employees are simultaneously working on their own project—a cooperative dungeon-crawler action game called Begraved—which has caused concern among some players.

Begraved is being developed not under the Iron Gate umbrella, but by the small independent team Grip Jaw. Reddit users became worried: could this hinder the completion of Valheim, which has been in Early Access for almost five years and is still awaiting its final biome?

Creative Director Robin Eyre was quick to dispel these concerns. He explained that Begraved is purely a passion project, worked on in their free time, during evenings and weekends. For the developers, it's an opportunity to channel their creative energy and simply make more games because they love what they do.

Eyre emphasized that work on Valheim continues daily and remains the top priority. The release of version 1.0 and the console version are still scheduled for 2026.
