Eidos Montréal is creating an "AAAA game" on Unreal Engine 5

Over the past few years, the Eidos Montréal team has gone through several upheavals. The transition to Embracer Group resulted in widespread layoffs and the cancellation of most of the studio's projects. Nevertheless, Eidos is still trying to remind people of its existence by preparing a certain "AAAA title" on the Unreal Engine 5. This unannounced game was was discovered on the LinkedIn page of a senior environment artist who worked on the project from June to August 2025.

More details were quickly revealed by reputable insider Tom Henderson. According to Henderson, the game is codenamed P11 and is a third-person open-world action-adventure game based on new intellectual property from Eidos. Therefore, it cannot be a sequel to one of the studio's iconic franchises.

Production of P11 has been underway since 2019. "Hundreds of millions of dollars" have been invested in this game, which explains its "AAAA" status.

Oddly enough, I only learned about this project because last year I was trying to find more information about it for my book, in which I talk about canceled video games. The thing is, it seemed surprisingly similar to the now-defunct survival game WiLD from Wild Sheet Studio. Because of the similarities, I thought that the rights to this game had been purchased by Eidos Montréal / Embracer, but as I later learned, WiLD was finally dead, and P11 is new intellectual property with some striking similarities.

Tom Henderson Henderson suggested that if there are no complications in development, the game could be fully announced by the end of this year. Of course, it is too early to talk about the release date.
