The Roblox platform could be unblocked in Russia if its developers fully address the violations that led to the ban. This was stated by Andrei Svintsov, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, in a conversation with journalists.
According to him, to lift the block, the company must implement effective mechanisms to protect children and filter prohibited content. Svintsov noted that it is technically difficult to distinguish a child from an adult user, so the system will require competent verification and fine-tuning, which could take another 6-8 months.
Roblox was blocked by Roskomnadzor in December 2025 for distributing extremist materials and LGBT-themed content. In response, the developers disabled chats for Russian players and stated their readiness to review moderation. The company also filed an application to register the trademark for the in-game currency Robux in Russia.
