Per Deadline, Dan Stevens has joined the cast of “Dexter: Resurrection”. He’s been cast as Owen Stark — the Five Borough Killer — a character who enjoys taunting law enforcement by phone and putting ordinary people in danger. In other words, expect plenty of cat-and-mouse tension, i.e., psychological provocation rather than just straightforward chases.

This figure arrives as a main adversary opposite the New York Ripper, a part played by Brian Cox ("Succession"). Details about the plot are still being kept under wraps; the showrunners are keeping cards close to the chest for now.

To situate things: season one picked up weeks after Dexter Morgan was shot in the chest by his son — and yes, Michael C. Hall is back in the title role. Returning cast members include David Zayas (Angel Batista), James Remar (Harry Morgan), Jack Alcott (Harrison Morgan), David Magidoff (Teddy Reed), John Lithgow (Arthur Mitchell), and Jimmy Smits (Miguel Prado).

New faces arriving in the cast include:

  • Uma Thurman ("Kill Bill")
  • Neil Patrick Harris ("How I Met Your Mother")
  • Peter Dinklage ("Game of Thrones")
  • Krysten Ritter ("Jessica Jones")
  • Eric Stonestreet ("Modern Family")
  • Steve Schirripa ("The Sopranos")
  • David Dastmalchian ("Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League") and others.

No release date has been announced yet; when it drops remains TBD.
