Showrunner Reveals Details of the Second Season of the Series "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms"
The showrunner of the series "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms," Ira Parker, has shared details about the project's second season. The plot of the continuation will be based on George R. R. Martin's novella The Sworn Sword.
The main characters—the knight Ser Duncan the Tall, played by Peter Claffey, and his young squire Egg, portrayed by Dexter Sol Ansell—will travel to Dorne, the southern region of Westeros. There, they will face new trials and adventures that will continue the story of the pair's wanderings through the world of Westeros.
The second season will consist of six episodes, each lasting from 30 to 60 minutes. According to Parker, filming of the new episodes is already underway, and the premiere is scheduled for HBO in 2027.
Recall that the series "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" premiered in January. The events take place a century before those of "Game of Thrones": the Targaryen dynasty holds the Iron Throne, while the naive knight Ser Duncan the Tall and his young squire Egg travel across Westeros, encountering various trials and discovering the intricacies of life in this harsh world.
The project has already earned recognition from audiences and critics. The series demonstrates high ratings: on average, each episode is watched by 13 million viewers. On the aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the show received a score of 93%, confirming its positive reception by critics. Viewers and experts note the successful embodiment of the atmosphere of the world of Westeros and the quality acting that brings the characters to life on screen.
