The Sims 4 Simulator Gains More Building Freedom and New Life Details for Sims

A major free update for the base version of The Sims 4 has been released. The developers' main focus is on the build mode, which has received several long-awaited tools.

The key innovation is "expandable" stairs. Players can now flexibly modify flights: add steps from the top or bottom, and build symmetrical or asymmetrical structures. This opens up new possibilities for designing grand entrances, multi-level interiors, and unconventional architectural solutions.

The railing tool has also been significantly improved. Railings can now be placed on only one side of a staircase, and their length can be manually adjusted—for example, interrupting the railing halfway down the flight. These changes significantly expand the arsenal of tools for architectural design, allowing for the creation of more realistic and expressive buildings.

In addition to construction tools, the update has touched other aspects of Sims' lives:

  • The family tree has been enriched with new designations for family relationships—it can now reflect step-relatives and great-grandparents.
  • Social interactions have been adjusted: autonomous flirting between close family members is now blocked.
  • The Create-a-Sim editor has been supplemented with the "Africana" style and new shades of metallic nail polish, providing more options for individualizing Sims' appearances.
