Publisher Paradox Interactive Agrees That Having Many DLCs for a Game is a Problem
Paradox Interactive has acknowledged that the abundance of DLCs for its games can deter newcomers, but the company does not plan to change this model. CEO Fredrik Wester stated this.
To lower the entry barrier, Paradox uses expansion bundles, discounts, and a content subscription, which is available for half of its catalog. This subscription allows access to all DLCs for a monthly fee.
The company's goal is to allow players to experience all the game's features without immediately delving into a complex list of add-ons. At the same time, Paradox will maintain its strategy of long-term project support, combining paid DLCs with free updates.
