Starbreeze Says Studio Layoffs Won't Affect Payday 3
Starbreeze has had to clarify information circulating in the media about layoffs at the studio, which led to rumors spreading online about a threat to Payday 3.
Last week, personnel changes were made at Starbreeze. A studio representative called them "organizational changes," emphasizing that they are directly related to the development of a certain "external project" currently in active development.
Despite the changes, the team responsible for Payday 3 has continued its full work on the game. According to a manager, the reorganization did not have a "significant impact" on the process of supporting the cooperative shooter.
The team's intentions remain unchanged regardless of the size of the development team or the project's audience. Even if only one player is playing Payday 3, the developers intend to continue supporting the game.
A Starbreeze representative explained that the studio's management sought to retain all employees. However, under the circumstances, this turned out to be impossible. Details of the company's financial position or specific reasons for the layoffs are not disclosed.
At the moment, Payday 3 remains Starbreeze's key project, and the development team confirms its commitment to the game's long-term development.
