A Gift from Fans to Fans: The First Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Film Released
The cult RPG Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has now inspired a full-length fan film. Studio 70 premiered "Escape from Taris," the opening episode of a planned fan trilogy. The story centers on a ragtag crew of outlaws attempting to flee a planet sealed off by the Sith; moments from the game surface throughout, sometimes vividly, sometimes in rougher form. This is a strictly non-commercial effort (i.e., no ties to Lucasfilm, Disney, or BioWare) made purely for fun. Studio 70 leaned into the Old Republic vibe so dedicated players will spot familiar beats — an unofficial, earnest piece aimed at the community rather than the marketplace.
