6 Heroes, New Game Mode, UI Changes, and More — Deadlock Receives a Major Update

The MOBA Deadlock, hidden from most Steam users, has received a major update titled Old Gods, New Blood. It introduced a fresh game mode, updated bases, bosses, and creeps, overhauled the interface, and more.

A brief overview of the key points in the update:

  • The fast-paced mode "Street Skirmish", designed for battles between two teams of four players. Each round, all heroes start with an equal amount of resources, and the shop will offer a random set of three items. The match ends after winning three rounds.
  • The Patrons and their minions have received a new design. Now, the Hidden King is on one side of the map, and the High Mother on the other. The figures will speak with new voices. The appearance of the creeps has been tied to the updated looks of the "Patrons".
  • Valve has introduced six new characters, but they are not yet playable — the first hero will be unlocked in a few days. Gamers are once again invited to determine the release order of the fighters through voting. Voting points are awarded for wins in regular matches and the "Street Skirmish" mode. To encourage other players to vote for the same characters, you can use sprays and cover the map with campaign posters.
  • Valve intends to release new heroes two at a time per week. Immediately after the release of new heroes, a priority token system will appear. It will allow Deadlock players to be among the first to try out newcomers in battle.
  • Deadlock has redesigned the post-match interface with statistics and the Most Valuable Player screen.
  • The project's interface has also undergone changes. Hero portraits now react to events, kill streaks are displayed on-screen, damage numbers have been redrawn, a button for selecting a random hero has been added, outlines for allied and enemy units, visibility of neutral creeps through walls when approaching, and more.
  • The settings menu has been improved. It now includes search, crosshair customization, and a slider for adjusting the field of view (FOV).
  • Changes have been made to the map. For example, passages for small heroes like Calico in Ava form or the upcoming Rem have appeared.
  • Added two new items and new music, improved anti-cheat, and fixed bugs.
