The team at KING Art has prepared a new gameplay demonstration for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV. The fresh video is dedicated to the ferocious Ork army.
Orks possess some of the cheapest units and buildings in the game, and their most notable feature is the "WAAAGH!" mechanic. It's extremely simple — the more Orks on the battlefield and the more enemies they destroy, the faster a special energy bar fills up. Activating it makes all units more powerful and aggressive.
Regarding commanders, in addition to the already familiar Gorgutz, players will get to control a newcomer, Guzkutta, with his riding squigosaur.
Excluding Orks from Dawn of War was utterly unthinkable for us! They are one of the iconic factions of the series alongside the Blood Ravens, and we couldn't resist the temptation to bring back Warboss Gorgutz. <...> However, beyond the characters, what makes Orks so interesting is that they are perhaps the only faction in Warhammer 40,000 that always enjoys the war. This feeling of insatiable bloodlust plays a very important role in their approach to battle. Take, for example, the "WAAAGH!" mechanic, which acts as a kind of energy indicator that fills up depending on the number of Orks on the battlefield and the number of enemies killed. The "WAAAGH!" can be activated to give your squads a decisive advantage. Upon activation, every combat unit goes into a berserk state, becoming stronger and more ferocious. As one might expect, the timing of using the "WAAAGH!" is a very important part of successfully concluding a battle with your Ork army.
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV is planned for release by the end of this year, exclusively on PC (Steam), with Russian text localization.
