Zombie chef classic difficulty and blood crafting details about resident evil requiem

Zombie chef, classic difficulty, and blood crafting — details about Resident Evil Requiem Tonight, Capcom released a presentation for Resident Evil Requiem.

A large segment of the video is devoted to fluff such as collaborations with Porsche and the Hamilton watch brand, but the authors also talked about the game.

First, let's remind you that Requiem has not one, but two protagonists — Grace Ashcroft and Leon Kennedy. At the same time, the heroes have a common campaign — there will apparently be no division into scenarios in the spirit of RE2. Let's move on to the details:

  • The episodes featuring Leon develop the ideas of Resident Evil 4. The hero is still as skilled in close combat and shooting. The parrying mechanic is also present. New additions include a hatchet and the ability to take a chainsaw from an enemy.
  • Grace's gameplay is inspired by the second and seventh installments of the series. Limited inventory and scarce resources will push the player to act cautiously — sometimes it's better to run away from a monster and not waste ammunition. On the other hand, the girl will learn to craft items using the blood of the infected, so killing them is also useful.
  • Ashcroft's arsenal will include a large-caliber Revival revolver. The gun is powerful, but ammunition for it is a very rare resource.
  • The zombies in RE9 have retained fragments of memories from their past lives — you will meet a chef obsessed with cooking, a cleaner (male or female?) who tirelessly scrubs mirrors, and more. You can use the creatures' behavioral characteristics to your advantage.
  • At the start, the horror game will offer three difficulty levels:
    • simplified (there is auto-aiming, the protagonists are more resilient)
    • standard modern
    • standard classic (ink ribbons are used to save for Grace)
  • As previously known, Requiem offers first- and third-person cameras. Today, the developers clarified that the view can be customized for each character. Judging by the demo, the optimal combo is an over-the-shoulder view for Kennedy and a first-person view for Ashcroft.
  • The main mystery of the game is hidden behind the word "Elpis" — it connects Leon, Grace's past, and her mother's death.

Resident Evil Requiem will launch on February 27 on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Switch 2. Russian dubbing has been confirmed.
