Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Received a Release Trailer for a Major Content Update

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide got a new trailer today. It spotlights the upcoming content drop — Beyond the Hive — which is due out tomorrow and promises to shove players past the Hive’s perimeter.

The headline addition is a fresh mode that leans into shooter-with-evacuation mechanics, e.g., timed extractions and frantic movement between objectives. The setting: the blasted surface of Atoma Prime, where cultists have stirred up trouble and seem to be hunting for something only they understand. Your job? Stop the heretics before whatever they're after becomes someone else’s problem.

Atoma Prime isn’t just hostile in terms of enemies — the air itself is a hazard, i.e., staying exposed is a quick way to fail. Expect lots of sprinting from one sealed shelter to the next; lingering is not an option.

New beasts await along with the usual suspects. Chief among them is the Ogroid Warlord, a brutal, single-minded predator that fixes on targets and won’t give quarter. Plague hounds — standard and armored varieties — will also dog your team, often in numbers.

A quick reminder: Darktide launched on November 30, 2022, and runs on PC and current-gen consoles (Xbox Series, PlayStation 5). On Steam it sits at roughly 71% positive reviews — a figure that captures part of the conversation but doesn’t tell the whole story.
