Waifu-snake Cissia, the Last Angel Nangong Yu, and Other New Features of Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.7

HoYoverse revealed that v2.7 of Zenless Zone Zero, titled "The Past Cannot Defeat the Champions," arrives on March 24. The update centers on the Caverns tournament — "Champions of the Caverns" — run by TOP Proxy; familiar faces and a few curveballs will be throwing their hats into the ring.

This patch also adds two agents, Nangong Yu and Cissia, and kicks off a themed event at the "Boiling Pot" hotpot in Lumina Square.

Hype is spilling out of New Eridu: the Caverns talk reaches the Bypass, not just the center. The prize is conspicuous — a rare Lumi Alloy amplifier — and the field is large. Expect squads like the "Cunning Hares" and the Sons of Kalidon, plus higher-ups from Public Security. Whispered drama: the ex-Kalidon Cleaner may step from the shadows as Black Wolf Romulus. Mechanically, Romulus brings an infection barrier that raises crit-damage resistance and interrupt defense while draining enemy HP; teams that sustain anomaly-type damage can chip away at that barrier and open new play lines (e.g., attr-based counters).

On stage: Cissia, from the City Dept. of Law Enforcement — an electric-attribute Assault agent. Short version, human-style: Elec., Assault; starts matches w/ three Poison charges. Each charge deals electric damage and temporarily boosts crit chance. Poisons tick down on their own, but she can get extras via her enhanced special and quickly burn remaining stacks with her basic, "Serpent's Kiss," to spike damage. Playstyle note: managing those charges = pressure windows.

Nangong Yu is S-rank, Intimidation-focused, Aether (Aeth.) attribute. She passively builds Strong charges over time and gains more whenever someone in the squad induces an anomaly state on an enemy. Hit a threshold and she can unleash a charged attack that ramps up stun buildup on foes, lengthens stun duration, and amps her own stun/anomaly efficiency — basically setting up loud burst plays for teammates. Her ultimate opens the Aether Veil "Repeated Delusion," which buffs the squad's attack. Also: a new outfit for her, if style matters to you.

Collecting the full "Angels of Delusion" faction via signal search unlocks an exclusive special background for Proxy — a small, tidy incentive for completionists.

v2.7 also brings back S-rank re-runs: Yidhari (Ice, Destruction) and Sid (Electric, Assault).

Beyond new agents, the Lumina Square event (Boiling Pot) gives Proxy a side path: help Director Peppercorn with errands and play a fresh hotpot-prep mini-game. A Special Ops caverns mission shows up too — three rotating pairs of agents to fight, designed as a skills check.

The virtual combat challenge is refreshed: new enemy types and special moves appear so you can chase higher scores. More points = better rank = rewards (Polychromes, a business card, exclusive titles). Short and practical: grind the leaderboard if you want those drops.
