Update Successful: Terraria's Online Player Count Quadruples to Highest Since 2020
On January 27th, Re-Logic updated the sandbox game Terraria to version 1.4.5, making the game Bigger & Boulder. The update brought numerous changes, and the community responded immediately: the concurrent player count on Steam surged to a peak of 225,000 players within a day.
While this isn't the all-time peak of 490,000 players from six years ago, it's the highest Terraria has reached since then, representing a massive fourfold increase.
The developers rolled out many fixes, improvements, and new content, ranging from interface and world creation updates to a spectator mode and collaborations with Dead Cells and Palworld.
Currently, Terraria holds an overwhelmingly positive rating of 97% based on nearly 1.5 million reviews.
